I think I need to develop a theology. I am anti-spiritual, pro-empirical and I believe that when I die, all that will happen is that my flesh will rot.

But thats a theology, isn't it? Causation is as comfortable a belief as spirituality, and as impossible to prove. Unless you like to wander in the morass of tautology. I believe in science and the physical world because it pleases me to do so. It makes sense to me. I don't have to think about it too hard. And it works more often than any religion I know.

Maybe thats it! Empiricism is so appealing because it works. Almost everytime I hook a little light bulb to a power source, it lights up. Every time I pray to God, nothing happens.
