A New Deacdence

I have been doing some presentations lately and that has left me in the posession of 2500 Ansi lumens video projector and 92" x 76" screen. Seeing that the projector had component-in jacks and my progressive scan DVD has component-out jacks... Well, I just had to to turn my living room into a home theater. Couple that with some Mackie SR-1530 speakers and boom! instant movie bliss.

I have now begun going through the AFIs top 100 films and seeing the ones I haven't seen. Its actually remarkable how many classic films I have not watched. Citizen Kane, Godfather, Gone With the Wind, Schindler's List.... we could go on and on. But I am knocking them down one by one. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is tonight.

Jason, my six year old, is getting into cheesy B movies. Whille we were at MGM Studios we ate at a restaurant called the Sci-Fi Drive In. You sit in these little cars with tables facing a huge screen. The cars are in rows like a real drive-in movie. There are even the tinny little speaker boxes for sound. Anyway, while you eat they show trailers from B movies and cartoons. Jason now wants to see all the bad movies. We have seen Forbidden Planet, the Day the Earth Stood Still and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. We have a copy of This Island Earth. But what Jason wants to really see is Devil Girl from Mars and Plan 9 from Outer Space!

I also picked up a DVD with the first 13 episodes of Ultraman Tiga and the DVD of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. I will let you know how those are.
