Last night I made low-carb brownies. I avoid the artificial sweetener sorbitol because of it's effect on my digestive system. (They call me Mr. Splodie) This mix has maltitol, which is usually OK. But there was 33 grams of sugar alcohol per serving, which did me in. Not only did I spend sometime contemplating on my porcelain throne, but my blood sugar went up to 93 this morning. That would not normally be bad, but I had been mid 70s for a week. Live and learn or die screaming.
